Ninja Series Workshops - Kama Weapon - September 4 at 6 PM

Tuesday, September 4 at 6:00 PM

Learn skills that made the ninja legendary - our weapons class series will be taught with realistic application for today. You will learn how to adapt the principles of ancient weapons to common attacks in today’s world. Ninja utilized a large variety of tools and weaponry, some of which were commonly known, but others were more specialized. Each of the four Ninja Series Workshops will focus on a particular weapon: Kama, Bokken, Sai, and Tonfa.
This workshop will cover the Kama Weapon only. The kama is a traditional Japanese farming implement similar to a sickle used for reaping crops and also employed as a weapon. The kama can be used singly or in pairs. Both the point and sharpened edge of the metal blade are called into use, and it can also be used to block, trap and disarm an opponent's weapon. When a ball and chain are attached to the end of the Kama, it becomes a kusarigama, a formidable weapon because its range makes it extremely difficult for opponents to approach the wielder.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
No prior experience required. For ages 13+. Training weapons will be made available to participants.
Class duration: 60 min
Please plan on arriving 10 mins prior to class start time. Wear comfortable athletic gear, bring a bottle with water, and a small hand towel.
Training is usually done barefoot. Bring a pair of athletic shoes with cleaned soles if you prefer.
