Our Schedule

Valentines Day is a great holiday to celebrate your appreciation and affection for the people you love in your life. For some of us hard core fitness enthusiasts, it might just be another day in America where we can pig out on chocolate and wine. For others, it might be a lonely night at the gym.

Whatever the case may be, the successes you create in your personal relationships with those you love in your life can be strengthened if you begin to parallel it with the love you maintain for fitness - a successful relationship requires discipline and focus.

To maintain a strong relationship, one needs to avoid the plateau by constantly introducing new challenges. In your workouts as well, it is important to constantly introduce new exercises, new programs, or new environments in your training ground.

Welcome instability; don't avoid challenges like most people do: understand that in order to grow, you can't be a winner if you are complacent. Take a look at what Titan Gym has to offer you - join a class that is outside of your comfort zone and add another dimension to your daily routine.

Seminars and Workshops

Women's Empowerment Self-Defense Seminar

Our February 10, 2018 workshop will teach you a variety of practical techniques meant to empower you in protecting yourself from different types of assaults. If you have a teenaged daughter, we encourage you to sign her up with you. Learn how to protect yourself before it's too late. Cost: FREE

Self-Defense Workshop for the LGBTQ Community

Our February 4, 2018 workshop will teach you a variety of practical techniques meant to empower you in protecting yourself from different types of assaults. Topics covered will pertain to defenses against current crimes in the neighborhood. No experience necessary. Cost: FREE

Yoga and Mimosas Workshop

Enjoy a 1-hour exhilarating yoga session, followed by a refreshing glass of mimosa. Mimosa Yoga on Valentines Day - Wednesay, February 14. The Vinyasa Flow Yoga class will be led by Titan Gym’s very own Instructor Emi and will be 60 minutes in duration. Mimosas will be served upon class completion. Ticket includes the yoga class + one mimosa. Tickets are non-refundable. Bring your yoga mat & water. 21 or older only. Cost: $10

Cardio Kickboxing Workshop


Titan Gym's Cardio Kickboxing Workshop scheduled for February 25, 2018 is a group fitness class that combines martial arts techniques with fast-paced cardio. This high-energy workout will challenge the beginner and elite athlete alike. Build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout. Cost: $25

With the exception of the 8:00 AM Krav Maga Level 1 class, all remaining classes have been cancelled due to rank testing.

Evaluations

 

Level 3 Ranking Certification

Students testing for their Level 3 certification are invited to demonstrate their knowledge of the level curriculum. This five hour test is scheduled for 
Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 9:00 AM 
and will not only look at endurance and technique but also assess your skill-set in surviving real-life attack scenarios. Please arrive on time as no make-ups will be given. This is a Pass/Fail event. By invitation only.
Cost: $85 (cash or check only).

Student Spotlight: Jessie G.

Hi! I’m Jessie! I’m originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago and moved to the city at 17 for college. I’m a hairstylist in Roscoe Village and for those of you that work with people constantly, you know how important it is to have an outlet to release your frustrations at times. Krav has been a great stress reliever as well as an amazing workout. I love every minute of it! I’ve played sports for almost my entire life, but have no previous martial arts experience. Krav has been such a great transition for working out, since volleyball doesn’t exactly allow you to punch people. All the instructors at Titan are so supportive and knowledgeable, and I learn so much with every class I take! Thanks to everyone at Titan for making class the highlight of my day!

Instructor Spotlight: A. Bailey

I started attending Titan in February 2016 after attending one of our free Women’s Self-Defense Seminars. I loved that the gym had so many strong, capable women and a bunch of dudes we kept around to maim. While spending the previous 2 years teaching English in South Korea, I’d started attending a boxing gym and enjoyed a small, vibrant community who like to sweat and punch things, and I was looking to continue that after moving to Chicago.

Being at Titan became much more than a workout and because a community—we camp together, eat together, support each other’s careers and hobbies—and I’m so thankful to be a part of that family, especially since mine lives on the West Coast.

I currently work as a Sales Lead in the retail arm of a large technology company and can be found playing adult make believe (also known as Improv comedy) at a couple of theaters on the north side. Trust me when I say if you need a weird context for a Krav move, I will find it for you and I will make a groan-worthy dad joke out of it.

Our members can now set customized scheduling preferences, scan membership ID’s, retrieve gym details, and find the latest updates on Titan Gym including photos and videos, right from their smartphone. In addition, you can also share your gym updates via Facebook, where friends can feel free to join you on your endeavor to get fit and stay healthy. To get our new MemberMe+ app, just visit the iTunes App Store or Android Play Store and search for MemberMe+ to download it directly to your mobile phone. Once downloaded, you can search for Titan Gym in the database, and then have the ability to look up and book class schedules, view hours of operation, and take part in any offers that we are currently promoting. Allow for Push Notifications to receive important alerts pertaining to class and/or instructor changes.

Equipment Requirements

Krav Maga Level 1 - Beginner

To practice safely as a Level 1 student, the following equipment is required for all Krav Maga classes (exception applies to new students who have a 2 week adjustment period, and trials which are exempt):
- 4 OZ MMA Gloves
- Hand Wraps
- Groin Cup- Mouth Guard
- Titan Gym t-shirt (Custom Titan, Krav Maga Alliance, and Hayabusa permitted)

Krav Maga Levels 2 and above
Higher level students require additional equipment in Krav Maga practice. Effective immediately, students must attend classes equipped with the following:
- Hand Wraps
- 4 oz MMA Gloves
- 16 oz Boxing Gloves
- Shin Guards
- Groin Cup
- Mouth Guard
- Titan Gym t-shirt (Custom Titan, Krav Maga Alliance, and Hayabusa permitted)

Muay Thai/ Savate/ Boxing
As you have experienced in previous classes, martial arts can be very dangerous without the proper protective gear. Requirements for Muay Thai, Savate, and Boxing classes include:
- Hand Wraps
- 16 oz Boxing Gloves
- Shin Guards (Muay Thai only)
- Mouth Guard
- Titan Gym t-shirt (Custom Titan, Krav Maga Alliance, and Hayabusa permitted)

Kali/ Eskrima/ Arnis
- Pair of Kali Sticks
- Pair of Training Knives
- Titan Gym t-shirt (Custom Titan, Krav Maga Alliance, and Hayabusa permitted)

Knife Attack and Defense Seminar with Randy Siordia

Learn how to apply effective techniques using Kali knife training against single or multiple attackers. Randy will cover training progressions and take drills from concept to application. You will learn how to use empty hand techniques against knife wielding attackers.
He is recognized as an expert in close range combatives with and without weapons and specializes in joint locks and balance disruption. Certified MARS Instructor in Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts with over 25 years of martial arts experience. He will use the doouble edged knife  both as an attacking weapon and a tool to manipulate the opponent's structure.
